Before You Download
WARNING: Not all computers can play these videos
These are very big files. Before you download these, take the time to be sure that your computer is capable of playing them. In order to play any video clip you have to have the right codec, which is something that tells your computer how to read the encoded video clip. You have many codecs on your computer right now. However unlike the other ones, the MPEG-2 codec is not freely availble for download. It can be distributed only as part of commercial software.
- If you have played DVDs on your computer in the past, you CAN play these videos.
- If your computer has a DVD drive, you can PROBABLY play these videos.
- If your computer has video authoring software, you can PROBABLY play these videos.
- If none of these are true, you can PROBABLY NOT play these videos. Sorry.
If you are unsure, then I have prepared a small DVD Test Clip. It's less than 4 MB so you can download it quickly. Unzip it and try to play it. If you get picture and sound, you are all set. If not, then you are out of luck. You could go buy some kind of DVD authoring or playing software, but that seems silly just for these videos :)
